The family and I are well. We went to San Antonio to ride the storm out and I came back early to check things out and start clean up.
Both churches and the parsonage came through the storm without too much damage. Mainly a lot of tree damage, so what is left of those trees in the backyard are going away.
Fortunately both churches did better in this storm but the community has various levels of damage, from minor to homes that are completely gone.
The Baptist church next door had major damage to their sanctuary. It looks like China UMCseveral tornadoes came through the area.
We appreciate your prayers and remember to pray for those communities along the coast that received a lot of damage.
Grace and peace,
Rev. Greg Edwards

Small communities & Major Storms
The total destruction of small communities like Sabine Pass, La Belle and Smith Point, Texas often go unnoticed in the wake of the losses in larger ones. Following "Rita" people from around the United States were more than generous with their time, their talents and their gifts as they reached out to Sabine Pass. The American people are so amazing in their generosity. We hope to make this a place to watch the communities and assist where one can. Thanks for visiting.General Discussion

Dr. Richard Burnham and wife hosted a wonderful Christmas Dinner for the District Clergy
Dr. Richard Burnham and wife hosted a wonderful Christmas Dinner for the District Clergy couples. The evening started off with a visit to the Wesley Center at Lamar. The center has been newly remodeled and looked great! Rev. Josh Hale, the pastor at the center, and staff were present and had everything just right and welcoming!
The dinner was held on the top floor of Lamar’s library. A beautiful setting for the event that had an enchanting view. The food was delicious and the entertainment of song was wonderful. Dr. Burnham shared some encouraging words and all the clergy were given a gift of the Bible translation, The Message, from the Burnham’s. It was a special evening of fellowship shared by all. A special thanks to everyone who helped in anyway with the event and especially to Dr. and Mrs. Burnham.
