community-wide joint worship service on September 24

Hey, everyone!

You heard from Kitty Key recently that we are having a community-wide
joint worship service on September 24. What you did not hear is something
very exciting! We are going to have a giant massed choir!!! The choir will
be from many churches and other faiths. We want every United Methodist
Church represented in this choir! And the music is going to be fun!

We'll be singing, "Ev'ry Time I Feel the Spirit" arranged by William
Dawson.
It's currently out of print, so you can get copies from me. We will
also be making practice tapes for all that want them.

Trinity choir combined with 3 other choirs in Italy this past summer to
sing this piece in several towns and it ALWAYS brought the house down. The
Italians went crazy over it! It was also a great success in our
worship at Trinity when we came home. People said that they could really worship
the Lord when the music was filled with such joyful praise. So we want
that to happen again!!!

Rehearsals will be at Thursdays at 6 p.m. on September 14 and 21 at
Trinity United Methodist Church on the corner of Harrison Ave. and 19th Street
in Beaumont. We will also rehearse at Ford Park at 4 p.m. on the 24th.

When coming from Lumberton on 69, take the Delaware Exit and stay on
the feeder road to Harrison. Turn Right on 19th and park.

When coming from Nederland on 69 or Houston on 10 go to the Calder
Harrison Exit and take a left on Harrison.

When coming from Orange on 10, take the Gladys exit, go two blocks to
19th St. and take a left into the parking lot just before Harrison.

I am so excited I can hardly stand it!!! God is so Good!!! and This
will be a wonderful service!!! Please let all your musicians know that they
are needed. We have room for a 200 voice choir and there is no reason we
can't have one.

See you on the 14th at 6, at Trinity!!!

All the best in Christ,

Don

If you have a church in need of a musical keyboard

We have several members with families in the Beaumont District who have reported that numerous small churches have lost many items that they are not able to replace for a number of reasons.

If you have a church in need of a musical keyboard that is more in the line of a digital, two-manual organ keyboard with bass pedal board plus the full digital capacity of synthesizer sounds from contemporary to full orchestra and percussion effects, I have one to donate. [And it doesn't have to be a Methodist Church. Any church in need...]

It has been my home rehearsal instrument I use to arrange music, write music and rehearse. I have retired from playing the organ full time and will be downsizing. It is worth a small fortune, but my heart has gone out to those who have no instruments. (FYI I was the organist for Roger Shuemate from 1995 to 1998 at the Methodist Temple. The loss of that fabulous instrument is unbelievable.)
