September is a month that gets our congregations back into the school year routine. I would like to suggest that we share some events with each other in September. Groves will have a prayer "mini-retreat", several prayer labyrinth dates and a Sunday night revival service. We have also started a "Modern" service at 6:45 PM each Sunday. I will send these dates out later in the week. Please reply to this e-mail with your events and share them with our neighbors.
We will have the small prayer Labyrinth for the entire month. It requires about 30' to fit. A large Sunday school class room, gym or fellowship hall will work. I can help to instruct your "guides" if you need them. Let me know if you need some printed material to explain the process of the Labyrinth. Call or e-mail me to have it in your church. It would be best to have it scheduled by August 15.
Thanks! I am looking forward to visiting some other churches.

SPECIAL REQUEST: Some of the inmates from the Gist State Jail-Beaumont
came to us on behalf of a very soon-to-be released 65-year old that is
penniless and has no home or family. His name is Clifton Shetley
#01284441--House C1-46, and he will be released in Beaumont. Arrangements
have been made for him to stay 2 nights at the local Salvation Army. He
needs transportation to the Social Security Office on Hwy 69 to register
for the money he earned in past employment. Hopefully, some church that
has not participated in Christian action will help this man. The
churches with RJM committees are pretty well loaded with viable projects.

The Board of Directors of the Wesley Foundation United Methodist Campus Ministry At Lamar University
Friends, past students and persons who can help me get this info out,
Take a moment to read this all the way through and pray about this! Young people, please be encouraged to follow your call and respond early...live the life you are called to live (Jer. 29:11).
As many of you are beginning to pursue careers, jobs and more education, some of you are beginning to ask about your calling. Yes, some of you are running and ignoring the tug because things seem a bit upside down...well I saw this flyer and I want you to share it with all your friends who are trying to explore the call on their life:
http://www.gbhem.org/exploration/home.html
Although the event has scholarship opportunities, you do not want to wait until the last minute. Also, this email may be for a friend, a brother or a sister...if it is, please pass it forward. I do not have all your currrent emails but each of you know young adults who are called into ministry but are not responding yet...pass this on as you pray for them!
