Successful Charity Bar B Que Raised a total of $10,000 for four local charities.

Successful Charity Bar B Que Fest held by Aldersgate Trinity United Methodist Church in Port Arthur, Texas April 22! Raising a total of $10,000 for four local charities.
Aldersgate Trinity United Methodist Church held it’s first annual Charity Bar B Que Fest recently. Four charities were the recipients of the proceeds from the event. Those charities were Community Care Outreach, United Board of Missions, Port Cities Mission and the Salvation Army. The event was successful and each charity received a check for $2500.

Aldersgate Trinity United Methodist Church embarked upon this task to enhance the church’s concept of the virtue of charity. More than 60 members worked together the day of the barbeque and had a most wonderful time in the process. Many people in the community helped in the sale of the tickets for the Charity Bar B Que Fest. Also, many people in the community helped by donating money toward the cost of the food prior to the barbeque, thus allowing Aldersgate Trinity UMC to give 100% of the ticket sales to the named charities.

Pastor Joy Richards wishes to thank anyone who helped in anyway with the Charity Bar B Que. Please know how much our church appreciates everyone who purchased a ticket for the Charity Bar B Que as well as, all those who helped to advertise the event. Many people sold tickets and Barbeque was delivered to large orders of 10 or more.

Live music was provided at the barbeque by Second Wind, a praise band. A biker rally was held during the barbeque and awards were given for different honors to the Bikers present. James Brown was our celebrity Bar B Que Host and did a wonderful job greeting everyone. It was an interesting and exciting day filled with much good food and fellowship.

May our LORD bless the charities involved in all their goals set for the year. May our LORD bless all those who participated and helped in anyway with the Aldersgate Trinity United Methodist Church Charity Bar B Que Fest 2006. LORD have mercy upon us. In the name of Christ, amen.

Blessings,

Rev. Joy Richards
