A Christ-centered recovery program

Dear Pastor,

In an effort to reach out to those in our communities who struggle with addiction, we are offering a Christ-centered recovery program, meeting at our church on Tuesdays at 6:30PM, beginning May 2. "The Most Excellent Way" was started in 1988 and has had much success around the country. The program includes the best features of Alcoholics / Narcotics Anonymous with a Christian emphasis and Bible study focus.

The motto of the program is Win-Disciple-Send which:

1. Win them to Christ
2. Teach them the Bible
3. Send them into the community to win others

Will you please help us get the word out by informing your congregation about us, and/or sending people who desire recovery to our meeting? We would greatly appreciate it. Thank you for your time. Should you have any questions, please contact me by email at chuck@umt.org or phone at 963-7852.

Yours in Christ,
Chuck Huffman, Pastor

FIRST USMC, BEAUMONT PRESENTS

Congregational Disaster Preparedness Seminar Family Preparedness
Disaster can strike without warning. Yet, many do not know how to protect themselves, their families, or their neighbors.
Take action. Learn how to plan for and be trained to respond to a disaster, natural or man-made. Join Interfaith Ministries for Grater Houston by attending the upcoming seminar at...

FIRST UMC, BEAUMONT, SAT., MAY 20, 9 AM - NOON
Registration opens-8:30 am Cost: $100 per church

Hurricane season is only weeks away. And because professional emergency first responders may not always be site immediately following the disaster, trained citizens can help save lives and protect property in their communities in the aftermath of a disaster.

The seminar includes the IM Disaster Preparedness Manual, which will be the primary tool that your committee will use in preparing a plan for the congregation. Each church may bring up to five people. (You could negotiate for a few more with a little kindness.)

Register today by contacting Jane Cunningham at (409) 833-1561 or jane8792@ubicaritas.org. For more information, call Clark Moore at 833-1561 or Pastor Clay Whitaker, 1st UMC, Vidor, at 769-2878.
